How tall will I be when I grow up?

Two things settle it: the curve you have been growing along since you were small, and the adult height your parents landed at. The predictor reads both, then tells you where the curve ends.

When does growing stop?

Most boys keep adding height until about 17 or 18, most girls until about 15 or 16 — but the calendar is not the answer. What matters is whether your growth plates are still open and where you sit on the curve today. Two 15-year-olds the same height can finish two inches apart.

Am I still growing at 17?

Many boys are, most girls are not. Whether you grew noticeably in the last year is the strongest clue, which is why the predictor asks it.

Can you grow taller after 18?

Your bones are almost certainly done. What is left is the height you already have and lose to a slouch — usually somewhere under an inch, and the questions estimate it for you.

Is this a how tall will I be calculator?

Yes, with one difference: it does not stop at a single number. You also get the range around it and the part that is still in your hands.

How tall will I grow if my parents are short?

Shorter than average, usually, but not always — children regularly finish outside both parents. Adding their heights narrows the range rather than deciding it.

How accurate is a height prediction?

It is a statistical estimate, not a promise. Expect the honest range rather than the single number to be right, and expect it to tighten the closer you are to finished.
